Welcome to SINUS-Transfer!

Mathematics and the sciences are considered to be difficult subjects. In international comparison (e.g. TIMSS, PISA), the results of our pupils are average, in mathematics in the bottom half. Yet, there are materials and models for good teaching. The Federal Government and the Länder therefore launched a nation-wide model programme for increasing the efficiency of teaching mathematics and the sciences (SINUS).

The aim of the programme SINUS-Transfer is to improve the competence in both maths and science subjects by disseminating the results of the programme SINUS on a much larger scale.
SINUS-Transfer has been carried out in two parts so far (2003 till 2005; 2005 till 2007) with 13 federal states participating in the programme. At the beginning of the second sequence nearly 1800 schools volunteered to take part.
In August 2007 most of the participating federal states started a third part of SINUS-Transfer.
